![]() ![]() Options 1 makes it extremely hard to see, option 4 gives people headaches and looks weird (wall-eyed), and option 3 means that you're actually rendering 4x as much as you are in single screen so you can't possibly run with a good framerate, so we went with option 2. Those expecting a quintessential exercise in survival horror can continue to look elsewhere, because RE5 turns the series conventions upside down. But Resident Evil 5 isnt without its challenges. When making top/bottom splitscreen, your options are:ġ - Cut each screens vertical field of vision in half compared to single screenĢ - Put black bars on the left and right of the screenģ - Increase the horizontal field of vision for each screen by 2x compared to single screenĤ - Render all the way to the sides but use a distorted field of vision Resident Evil 5 also introduces a new partner for Chris, one that will play an integral role in the game. In split-screen mode there are "black bars" on the side of the screen/the game appears in 4:3 aspect ratio. Here is the explanation as to why R2 has the black bars, I'll assume Capcom is doing this with RE5 for the same reasons. ![]()
